You might already know that matter is made of smaller parts called atoms. Did you also know that all, natural and synthetic (man-made), materials are composed of elements (individual atoms), molecules, or compounds?
Student activities
- In this scavenger hunt world, we will use the material reducer to find as many materials as they can that contain oxygen.
- Then we will compete to see who can fill all their frames the fastest.
- Once finished, we can try to find a different element.
After completing the activity, let’s talk about some techniques scientists use to determine the elemental composition of materials in the real world
