Through Minecraft Educator’s Edition, students will be able to visit NPC characters which contain advice about strategies, and links to anchor charts providing students with a visual representation of these strategies.

Learning objective

Upon completion of this lesson, students will be able to:

  • Destroy and construct colored concrete blocks in Minecraft to complete a multiplication facts chart within the whole number product 100.
  • describe strategies they use to finish the chart using Minecraft’s quill and book feature
  • provide a written reflect on difficulties encountered during creation of facts chart, and what strategies were used to overcome those struggles.
  • Use basic navigation and building tools within Minecraft.
  • Use NPC and instructor resources to identify helpful multiplication strategies (commutative, identity, zero, associative, and distributive properties).
