What is Project-Based Learning?
Project-based learning (PBL) is a learning approach based on the premise that teachers have all of the information necessary to help students learn on any given topic. When teachers incorporate PBL into their classrooms, they are free to delve deeper into the topic of each unit, rather than prescribing a specific project. Project-based learning emphasizes human interaction, communication, and sharing concepts that are best taught when students have some ownership over the learning process. Rather than simply memorizing information about a topic, students actually become engaged and learn through doing.
